Into the Record is published by TAKGIO INC. By using the app you agree to what follows. If you do not, please do not use it.
Into the Record narrates official United States government documents — Supreme Court opinions, House and Senate committee reports, and Congressional Research Service reports — as spoken audio. Each document is read verbatim and divided into chapters that follow the document's own structure.
It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for reading the record. If a decision matters to you, read the document. Every narration links to its official source so you can.
The narration is produced by text-to-speech from the official text. We do not paraphrase, summarise or editorialise the documents we read. But a synthetic voice is not a perfect reader: it can mispronounce a name, an abbreviation or a citation, and the process of turning a printed document into speech can introduce errors of its own.
Where the audio and the official document differ, the official document governs. Do not rely on the narration as an authoritative text. If you hear something that sounds wrong, the Report a problem control in the player tells us, and it helps.
Works of the United States government are generally not subject to copyright in the United States. We narrate them on that basis. Some documents reproduce material from other sources — quoted articles, exhibits, third-party text — which may remain the property of whoever wrote it.
The recordings we produce, the chapter structure, the transcripts and the app itself belong to TAKGIO INC. You may listen to them for your own use. Please do not redistribute, rehost or resell the audio files.
An account is optional. If you create one, keep your sign-in method secure — anyone with access to your Apple ID, Google account or email can reach your library.
You can delete your account at any time from You → Delete account, or through the account deletion page. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to redistribute the audio at scale.
Some features may be offered by subscription. If they are, payment is handled by Apple or Google — not by us — and is governed by their terms. Prices, what a subscription includes, and how to cancel will be shown before you buy. Cancellation and refunds are handled through your App Store or Google Play account.
We do not promise the service will be available without interruption. The catalogue changes as documents are added; a narration may be replaced by a corrected version, and its audio may move.
The app is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, TAKGIO INC is not liable for any loss arising from your use of it, including any decision taken on the strength of a narration rather than the official document.
If these terms change, the date at the top changes. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
