Into the Record narrates official United States government documents. It is published by TAKGIO INC. This policy says exactly what the app collects, what it does not, and how to get rid of it.
There is no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind in this app. Nothing you do is measured, profiled, or sold. If you never sign in, nothing about you leaves your phone at all.
The app works without an account. In that case no personal information reaches us. Your place in a document, what you have saved, your playback speed and everything else is stored only on your device.
The app does fetch the catalogue of documents and the audio itself from our servers. Those requests carry the ordinary technical information any web request carries — an IP address and a device type — which our hosting providers log for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to build a picture of you.
Signing in exists for one reason: so your library and your place in a document follow you between devices. You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a code sent to your email address.

These never reach us at all, whether you sign in or not: your app settings, your playback speed, your reading mode, which chapters you have switched off, your recent searches, your queue, and any narration you have downloaded for offline listening.
Account data is stored with Supabase on servers in the United States. Audio and transcripts are served from Cloudflare. Notifications, if you allow them, are delivered through Expo's push service and then by Apple or Google. Those providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Access to your rows is restricted at the database level: the app's credentials can only ever read and write data belonging to the signed-in account.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time — You → Delete account. It removes your account and every row listed above. It cannot be undone.
If you cannot get into the app, use the account deletion page.
Signing out, by contrast, leaves your account intact and simply removes the copy on that phone.
Into the Record is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The documents it narrates are government records written for adults, and some of them describe the conduct they investigate in frank terms.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we will say so in the app.
